PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TITLE VI COORDINATOR

The primary role of the Title VI Coordinator is to investigate and monitor outcomes, patterns, and/or effects of discrimination and bias based on race, color, or national origin in any college program or activity. The Title VI Coordinator will assess data from reports, investigations, and findings of discrimination and bias, harassment, or retaliation annually. This assessment will help to identify patterns that may warrant actions by the College to eliminate a hostile environment or enhance training efforts.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Referrals to the student conduct process, Human Resources, and supervisors for action or further investigation
  • Ensure that in-person or online Title VI training is offered to new and existing employees
  • Track participation rates for Title VI training for students, faculty, and staff
  • Determine whether the College proceeds in responding to alleged Title VI misconduct when a request for anonymity is made, no action is recommended at the conclusion of an investigation, or an informal resolution is made
  • Oversee all hostile environment assessments conducted on all reports, whether on or off campus or occurring online
  • Review the College website and publications for the accuracy of information on policies and procedures for Title VI regarding harassment, discrimination, bias, or retaliation
