COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prerequisite: Math 070 or equivalent, or Corequisite: Math 017. The course is designed to give liberal arts students not majoring in mathematics or science an appreciation of mathematics with an emphasis on problem solving as it relates to individual topics. Core topics will include inductive and deductive reasoning, numeration systems, personal finance, measurement, geometry, and introductory statistics. These topics are studied through practical and quantitative reasoning applications. Three hours weekly.
