COURSE DESCRIPTION

Recommended background: GEOL 101 or high school earth science. General survey course in the basic principles of physical geology with in-depth coverage of selected topics such as streams, glaciers, ground water, weathering, soils, mass wasting, structural deformation, earthquakes and volcanoes. Laboratory exercises focus on rock and mineral identification, topographic and aerial map interpretation, soils, and water.
