Prerequisite: Successful completion of, or placement in, MATH 102 or higher, OR successful completion of high school algebra or MATH 099 with a final grade of C or higher. This is an introductory chemistry course suitable for pre-nursing students, students who have not taken high school chemistry, or students who need a review before taking General Chemistry I (CHEM 103). Topics include measurements, the metric system, unit conversions, atomic structure, bonding, periodic law, nomenclature, reactions, chemical calculations, states of matter, solutions, acids and bases, and a brief introduction to organic chemistry.
