WHERE IS THE LEARNING COMMONS – ACADEMIC SUPPORT LOCATED?
The Learning Commons – Academic Support is located in the Library and space just down the hall from the Library entrance in Auburn. In Fulton, Academic Support is in the Learning Commons.
ARE TUTORING SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE STUDENTS?
All students can request remote appointments with our Learning Commons – Academic Support peer and professional tutors and can also use NetTutor online tutoring services.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR TUTORING SERVICES?
ALL Learning Commons (Academic Support) services are free!
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT FOR TUTORING?
In most cases, appointments are needed for Zoom tutoring sessions with Learning Commons – Academic Support peer and professional tutors. Visit our tutoring pages for more info.
HOW MANY TUTORING APPOINTMENTS CAN I MAKE?
To ensure all students have access to tutoring services, individual tutoring appointments are limited to one hour per week per subject area, which could be broken into two 30-minute appointments. If a student requires additional support, they could reach out to the Writing and Tutorial Support Coordinator or Math Specialist to develop an academic support plan that meets their needs.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TUTORING APPOINTMENTS?
The LCAS reserves the right to restrict a student’s access to scheduled tutoring appointments after three tutoring appointments are missed without advance cancellation. Arriving more than 10 minutes late is considered a missed appointment. Students who are restricted from scheduled appointments may continue to access tutoring on a drop-in basis.
IF I NEED TO TAKE A TEST IN THE LEARNING COMMONS – ACADEMIC SUPPORT, WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Testing in the Learning Commons – Academic Support is available for makeup and accommodative tests, proctored tests for online courses, and placement tests. Students must have a photo ID to take a test in the Learning Commons – Academic Support.
WHEN CAN I USE LEARNING COMMONS – ACADEMIC SUPPORT COMPUTERS AND PRINTERS?
Computers and printers are available for student use during all open Learning Commons – Academic Support hours.
