MISSION STATEMENT
A campus community is a special place, its dual mission of teaching and learning is aimed essentially at human development. Campuses have a long and valued tradition of openness with a maximum degree of freedom of expression and inquiry and a minimum of restriction. Developing a safe and secure environment where the quality of education may be achieved is the responsibility of the entire campus community. Within the campus community, the Office of Public Safety is committed to the leadership role in developing programs, methods and approaches to assist the college in achieving a reasonably safe and secure environment.
The Office of Public Safety exists to support the goals of the college and to assist those who seek and impart knowledge, as well as those who provide support to the mission of the institution. The Office of Public Safety strives to provide an environment where diverse social culture and academic values may prosper and grow.
All members of the Office of Public Safety are expected to be sensitive to the unique nature of the college community and realize that they serve to assist the institution in the achievement of our goals. It is only through our collective efforts that our mission will be accomplished.
TO REPORT A SUSPECTED CRIME
If you feel you are the victim of a crime, or you witness a crime, dial 911 from any campus phone. For non-emergency assistance, you can contact the Office of Public Safety from any College phone at x2461 on the Auburn Campus, or x3067 on the Fulton Campus, and an on-duty Campus Police Officer or Campus Security Officer will assist you.
From an outside line, please dial 315-294-8461 for the Auburn Campus Police Office, or 315-593-9367 for the Fulton Campus Police Office.

EMERGENCY ALERTS
Cayuga is one of the SUNY campuses that uses an emergency alert system to notify college students, faculty, and staff of possible emergencies. Our emergency alert notices are intended only for situations involving imminent danger to health or human safety. These may include severe weather, snow closings, utility failure, major road closures, fire or hazardous-material spill in the area, and bomb or weapon threats.
As an enrolled student, you will automatically be enrolled in this system. If Cayuga Community College generates an emergency alert notice, it will be sent to you as a text message to your cell phone and/or as an email message.
