Cayuga Community College to Hold Open Houses

The Cayuga Community College Office of Admissions will host an open house at each of its two campuses in November.

  • Fulton Campus
    Saturday, November 8, 2014
    10 a.m. – noon
11 River Glen Drive, Fulton NY
  • Auburn Campus
    Saturday, November 15, 2014
    10 a.m. – noon
    197 Franklin Street, Auburn NY

These events are open to prospective students, parents and community members and will showcase information about the College’s degree programs, services, tuition and financial aid, student clubs, activities and events. A general welcome and overview of the college will be given followed by several breakout sessions.

“These open houses are a great way to convey-more personally than a website or brochure might-why over 90 percent of respondents to our most recent graduate survey said that Cayuga met their educational goals,” says Jeffrey Rosenthal, Cayuga’s vice president of student affairs. “Eight out of 10 said Cayuga was their first choice and an impressive 99 percent said they’d recommend Cayuga to a friend or relative. That is a resounding testament to the quality of our academic programs and to the commitment and dedication of our faculty, administrators and staff.”

Among the benefits to be highlighted during the open house are Cayuga’s academic programs and degree options, geared to meet the educational and career goals of every student. Cayuga offers an associate in applied science degree (AAS) if immediate entry into a career is the student’s goal. If transfer to a four-year college is desired, Cayuga offers associate degrees in arts (AA) and sciences (AS) in many fields of study.

One of the most pressing issues for prospective college students and their parents is cost. Part of the open house will be spent addressing financing options. Cayuga is one of the most affordable colleges in the state of New York, allowing students to reach their educational goals with less long-term debt. College officials work with students and families to secure the financial assistance needed to cover costs via grants, scholarships, student and parent loans and work opportunities for students.

Cayuga’s open, rolling admissions process enables students to apply anytime. Completed applications, including final high school transcript or official GED are normally processed within one week of submission. Fall semester courses generally begin late August/early September, and late January marks the start of the spring semester. Summer (May-August) and intersession (January) terms provide additional opportunities to enroll.

Those who wish to attend either/both of these open houses are asked to RSVP online at:
