COURSE OUTLINE

PSYCHOLOGY 101

INTRODUCTORY PSYCHOLOGY

Prof. Sanzotta  M310

This is a survey course designed to introduce students to a variety of topics in psychology.   3 credits.  45 classroom hours.   Your main objectives are to come to class, take notes, study, and do well on the exams.

·        Attendance.  You are expected to attend every class.  The college attendance policy is enforced, and you will be dropped from the course without a warning.  Also, please remember I am not responsible for telling you what you missed on days when you are absent.  Do not come to me and ask if you “missed anything important.”

·        Exams.  All exams are announced in advance.  They are  multiple-choice.  There are no quizzes or papers.  There are three exams and the final is the third exam, and it covers the last third of the course.  I recommend the Study Guide.  Finally, I do not feel it is unfair to test you on material from the book, even if it isn’t discussed in class.  Here is the exam schedule:

Exam I  Chapters 1-3.

Exam II  Chapters 5, 6, 8(pp.277-309), 9.

Exam III  Chapters 10-13.
