PBS Kids' Star "Clifford" to Appear at CCC Family Day

DATE: 01-22-2003

You don't need to be old enough to read, to discover that 'Books Are Out of This World!'

That's the theme of the third annual February Family Fun day at Cayuga Community College. Kids age three and older, along with their favorite grown-ups, are invited to this free event on Sunday, February 9, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the college cafeteria.

A live appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog, star of page and screen, will give young readers and pre-readers a chance to meet one of their favorite storybook characters 'in person.' Clifford is the canine hero of a Scholastic book series, and of an animated television series seen locally on the PBS station WCNY-TV.

Nonstop action for the younger set will also include a live reptile display, tissue-paper collage making, astronaut food and fun, music and storytelling, book sales, a puppet show, and more.

Sponsors of the event are Cayuga Community College, the Auburn/Cayuga Community College Alumni Association, the College's Student Activities Board, the Institute for the Application of Geospatial Technology, Success by Six, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Auburn, and WCNY.
