Cayuga Community College will host an Antique Appraisal Fair on Sunday, February 9, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the student lounge of the Auburn campus. Anyone can bring in antiques, white elephants, and whatnots for an expert opinion on market value. For large items, photographs are welcome.
Antique dealer Tim Conroy of T. W. Conroy and Associates and auctioneer Bob Knapp will donate their services as appraisers. Conroy is a nationally certified ASA appraiser in antiques and fine art. Knapp, an auctioneer for over 30 years, holds a postgraduate degree in museum directorship and is the auctioneer for Conroy's firm.
An appraisal fee of $2 per item or $5 for three items will be charged for verbal appraisals at the event, with all proceeds to benefit the College's alumni association programs. Free refreshments and raffle drawings will round out the program.
The event is open to the public and sponsored by the Auburn/Cayuga Community College Alumni Association.
