Students coming to Cayuga Community College this fall can make a video to tell the world why - and they might win a prize for it.
Cayuga has posted a video contest on YouTube, with entries accepted now through Friday, August 15, 2010. The college will award an Apple iPad to the Grand Prize winner, and a Flip Mino HD digital camcorder to the People's Choice winner.
Each entry must be a 30- to 90-second video that tells "Why I Chose Cayuga." Content must be original, created by the entrant and appropriate for all audiences. Students who have registered for full-time or part-time study at Cayuga in fall 2010 may enter. Complete rules for eligibility and submissions are posted at http://www.cayuga-cc.edu/contest.
Videos will be screened for compliance with contest criteria and judged for creativity, clarity and relevance of message, motivation and inspiration, and overall entertainment value. Judges appointed by the college will choose the Grand Prize winner. Screening and selection by the judges will be final.
The People's Choice winner will be determined by online voting. While the contest is in progress, visitors to the contest website can view the entries and cast up to five votes per computer.
Winners will be notified by e-mail at the end of August, 2010.
