Kids Can Take the Driver's Seat at Cayuga CC Annual Family Fun Day

DATE: 01-14-2010

The 10th annual February Family Fun Day will be held at Cayuga Community College on Sunday, February 7, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Spartan Hall gym. Children's activities at the free public event will feature a "Cool Wheels" theme. Kids can sit in a real race car, Army Jeep, police cruiser, and other vehicles. To help youngsters have a cool time on their own wheels, free bicycle helmets will be distributed while supplies last. Other attractions include Clifford the Big Red Dog of PBS fame, a moonwalk train, arts, crafts, music, face painting, games, snacks and raffle. Cayuga County parents can sign up to receive free books for children from birth to age five through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and kids can enter the Early Reading Challenge.

The family-friendly afternoon is sponsored by Cayuga Community College, the ACC/CCC Alumni Association, the College's Student Activities Board and Early Childhood Club, Success by 6, Eat Well Play Hard, the Cayuga County Health Department, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, Seanna M. Donley Memorial Fund, Cayuga Valley Model Railroaders Club, and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.

Details are available from Louise Wilson, director of alumni affairs, at 315-255-1743, extension 2224.
