In collaboration with HBO, the Cayuga County Office for the Aging will present a four-part documentary film series, The Alzheimer's Project, in November 2009 at the Auburn campus of Cayuga Community College.
Alzheimer's, an incurable disease of the brain which causes progressive memory loss, may affect as many as 11 million Americans by the year 2040. The Office for the Aging is offering this free film series to provide support and education to Alzheimer's sufferers and their families and caregivers.
The film's four segments will be shown on consecutive Monday evenings at the Bisgrove Community Theatre. Topics are:
- November 9 - Memory Loss
- November 16 - The Caregiver
- November 23 - Research
- November 30 - Management
