High school and college students can register for a one-week summer course in green business basics, offered at both Cayuga Community College campuses at a discounted tuition rate. The Biology 213 "Green Entrepreneurship" course, which carries three college credits, will be held Monday through Friday, June 29-July 3 at Cayuga's Auburn Campus, and July 6-10 at the Fulton Campus.
The course runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break; lunch is provided on the first and last days. Students will explore alternative energy, geospatial technologies and environmentally friendly business practices. Field visits include an energy-efficient home and large-scale business, a sustainable industrial enterprise, and a wind farm. Students must have completed Regents or college biology, and can register by calling 315-255-1743, extension 2217.
Tuition of $164 for the course is made possible through the "ESF in the High School" program <http://www.esf.edu/outreach/green> of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, with support from a New York State Department of Labor grant under the leadership of CNY Works.
