The March 2009 staging of Falling from Trees by Cayuga Community College's Harlequin Productions has won three Roving Adjudicator Merit Awards from the Theatre Association of New York State. Outstanding Achievement Awards, recognizing superlative quality, went to Liz Dapo for Scenic Design and to Brad McLean for Lighting Design. Bob Frame received an Excellence in Directing Award for exceptional merit surpassing the norm. TANYS judge Ed Scutt, who attended the March 27 performance, called the drama "a fast-paced, mysterious, intense evening of theatre." The awards will be presented this November in Batavia during the 2009 TANYS Festival.

For students interested in stage experience, Cayuga now offers a theatre concentration as a choice within the Liberal Arts degree program. The four-course sequence includes both acting and technical aspects, and a two-week London theatre tour is available as an elective. Information on the theatre concentration is available from Professor Susan Wohlstenholme at 315-255-1743, extension 2362.
