DATE: 05-21-2003

Silkscreens by two Cayuga Community College students will be displayed from June 1 through August at the Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibit in Albany. They were among 60 pieces chosen from SUNY student artwork shown in fall 2002 and spring 2003 exhibits in Albany.

Selection from the Havamal by Michael Engler of Auburn, and Held Hostage by Michael Garner Jr. of Sterling, will be competing for three awards in the form of cash or scholarships. Garner, who graduated from Cayuga in May with an associate degree in studio art and design, will enter the State University of New York at Oswego this fall to pursue a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Engler will start his sophomore year at Cayuga in the fall, majoring in studio art and design.

The State University of New York is the largest comprehensive university system in the United States, with 403,000 students enrolled in 6,400 fields of study on 64 campuses.
