Jinahie Egyptian-American spoken word poet

Jinahie (my wings in Arabic) is an extraordinarily gifted 20 year old Egyptian-American spoken word poet.

Come hear Egyptian-American spoken word artist Jinahie! Jinahie recently competed in HBO’s Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam documentary series. She has also shared the stage with John Mayer, The Roots, Common, Smoky Robinson, Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Jinahie is one of four poets selected out of hundreds to compete in and hold a spot on the nationally touring Speak Green Team which performed at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012 and was the champion of Graffiti’s DC’s first annual Art of War Slam.
