Cayuga Community College President Brian M. Durant, Ed.D., announced that at its session on November 17, 2016, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education acted to reaffirm accreditation of the Cayuga Community College with no requirements for a follow-up report. The College first achieved Middle States accreditation in 1965 and has maintained accreditation since its initial review. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2024-2025.

Cayuga Community College has announced the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) score of its 2016 nursing class. The most recent graduates of the school’s two-year associate in applied science degree achieved a 100 percent pass rate.
The 2016 class surpassed the state and national average pass rates by 17 and 15 points respectively. Only two programs in New York State have achieved this level of performance. The program’s six-year pass rate is an exceptional 99.3 percent.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 27 from 6pm-8pm and will be held at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, NY. Cayuga Community College has announced a new tourism management certificate program. Students are able to enroll immediately in this new one-year program for the fall semester which begins August 29, 2016. The certificate prepares students for entry-level careers in tour companies, tourism bureaus, destination marketing organizations, tourism promotion agencies, visitor centers, cruise lines, inns, and hotels. Cayuga Selected by U.S. Department of Education as Participant in New Dual Enrollment Pell Experiment
Cayuga Community College has been selected as an experimental site for the U.S. Department of Education’s Pell Experiment aimed at expanding access to college courses for high school students and increasing college graduation rates for at-risk students. Forty-four (44) postsecondary institutions – primarily two-year colleges – across 23 states have been invited to participate in this effort, which will allow high school students access to Federal Pell Grants.

Cayuga Community College Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of its newest Trustee. The Honorable Patrick V. Mahunik has been appointed by the Cayuga County Legislature to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Joseph Runkle who resigned in February, 2016.
