Reminders
- Schedule a meeting with your Disability Specialist at the beginning of each semester to set up accommodations.
- Exams:
- If you have extended time &/or separate location as an accommodation, let your professor know at least 1 week in advance that you will be taking your exam in the Academic Support Center.
- If you use a computer reader for exams or use a scribe, schedule an exam time with the Office of Disability Services Peggy Carroway in Auburn or Rae Howard in Fulton one week in advance of the exam date.
- Notetaking assistance:
- Check your folder for notes. If you are not receiving notes for a class or drop a course, inform the Office of Disability Services immediately.
- Textbooks on CD (E-text):
- You must provide a copy of your textbook purchase receipt to the Office of Disability Services before receiving your textbooks on CD.
- If you receive E-text, you must abide by the copyright laws regarding these materials.
- See Low-cost and No-cost Text-to-Speech software for a list of computer software that can be downloaded to your computer and used for reading E-text aloud.
- Software is available in the Academic Support Center for reading E-text aloud as well as for scanning and reading other print and online course materials.
- Tutors:
- Tutors are available in the Academic Support Center. Peer tutoring is available on a drop-in basis. Individual tutoring with a Tutor Specialist is available by appointment. Check the schedule in the Academic Support Center at your campus for times.
- Study Groups meet weekly for a wide variety of courses.
- Tutoring at CCC is a great service provided free of charge.
- Interpreter Services:
- Contact the Office of Disability Services as soon as possible to arrange for interpretive services.
